Critical Interchange Notes
- Input Shaft Length: 1998–1999 generally use a 298mm input shaft, while 2000–2003 transitioned to a 300mm shaft. Ensure your torque converter matches the input shaft length.
- Bellhousing: The two-piece case allows for swapping to match LS-based engines (long bolt) or traditional Small Block/V6 (short bolt).
- Electronics: 1998-2003 models mostly use the 13-pin connector and PWM (Pulse Width Modulated) pump, but ensure the “PWM” cast is present on the pump cover.
- 4WD/2WD: You cannot directly swap a 2WD transmission into a 4WD vehicle without changing the output shaft and housing.istent, non-internal speed sensor electronics.
